RPG Architect is a game creation tool, with an editor and engine that aims to open up the development of role-playing games to non-programmers. This is our vision: an engine that continuously evolves with the community, offers flexibility and ease-of-use, and requires no plugins or external code to make your dream game. You shouldn't need to be a professional to take your vision to life -- and with RPG Architect, all you need is some grit and a commitment to hard work. This is the primary principle that guides all development.
There are no aims to make an "RPG Architect 2" or any other kind of sequel or spin-off. Instead, the plan is to iterate and improve on RPG Architect for the next decade (and possibly beyond) after its "official" release.
RPG Architect can be found on Steam. It is currently in Early Access, and is expected to leave Early Access in Q4 2025.
Currently, RPG Architect games can be natively distributed to x86-64 Windows, Linux, and MacOS platforms. Console and mobile ports are possible, but require developer licensing with their respective platforms. Android and iOS support are planned but not currently implemented.
RPG Architect came about as a reaction to other notable role-playing game development tools not evolving, instead constantly removing and adding features and breaking compatibility with older iterations of the same product.
